[Letter] 1864 Mar 21, West Bank, Blackheath [to] Miss Boughton / Samuel Smiles. [Re 'the unfortunate inventor Richard Roberts' about whom she had enquired and who had just died in poor circumstances. He explains that a subscription has been in progress privately, which may now be made a public subscription, adding that Roberts left an only daughter unprovided for, and mentioning the funeral which had taken place at Kensal Green the day before. 3p. ms.]
