Model of Lima Excavator type 1201.

This fine maker's model is of a Lima type 1201 excavator fitted with a crowd shovel of approximately 3 cubic metre capacity. This was an all-purpose machine which could also operate a drag-line. Such excavators were generally used in open-cast mining, quarrying and construction projects. This 1:18 scale model was presented to the Museum by the makers, Lima-Hamilton of Ohio, one of the world's leading manufacturers of such equipment at the time.
