This oil lamp of the bonneted Mueseler type embodies improvements patented in 1895 by Messrs. J. Heath and W. Frost, whereby the gauze cannot inadvertently be omitted, accidents having happened from this cause. Contrary to usual practice the reservoir and cage are in one piece; the glass, which has a reflector, is dropped in and secured by a following -down ring, to which the gauze is attached, the ring being held in place by a hinged catch. The bonnet or shield is " spun or stamped in one piece, as patented in 1894 by Mr. J. N. Guy, and is screwed on to the following -down ring. A lead rivet lock is fitted.
