This machine is a purpose-built capstan lathe using electrical sequence control of all machine functions, hydraulic actuation of three cross slides, chucking and speed changes, and pneumatic actuation of the turret mechanism. The lathe is extremely flexible and the eight utting tools are most efficiently used in manufacturing parts on a 'batch ' production basis.
