Pair of extension prostheses supplied to a 4 year old boy born with all limbs short, due to Thalidomide. These prostheses consist of blocked leather, open-ended ischial tuber-bearing sockets. Mounted on aluminium one-piece legs with wooden feet without ankle joints. Leather imitation shoe covering. Made by Hanger in 1966.
Made by Hanger, this pair of extension protheses was supplied to a four year old boy born with shortened limbs, due to his mother being prescribed the thalidomide drug during pregnancy. The one-piece legs are mounted on aluminium and attached to wooden feet without ankle joints and are covered with leather imitation shoes. Supplied by the Limb Fitting Centre at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton, London, 1966
