One black rubber & one metal bite bloc, no maker marked, 1950-1999

Placed in the mouth when an tube is inserted into a person's mouth the help with breathing, particualy when having an anaesthetic, bite blocks prevent damage to the tube or a person's teeth. The block helps keep a person's jaw open and prevents them from biting their tongue.
