[Letters (3)] 1857 May-1859 Apr, Penshurst, Kent [to] Robert [Millward] / James Nasmyth. [In one letter, of 1858 Oct 25, he wishes 'the government would let me have a trial of my Steam ram' ... for 'it is now 10 [16?] years since I gave the Admiralty all the plans'. He continues 'My steam hammer shaped Engines are now all the go on marine engines for screw ships for the merchant service' ... 'It is pleasant to see the products of ones hand taking [foremost?] place as useful agents to the progress of man ... if the world reaps the benefit I don't care much about having the honor or credit']
