Small Pelton Wheel Turbine, 1903

Encased Pelton wheel, the 'Hector' water motor No. 2, with stop valve and driving pulley, manufactured by Percy Pitman, Bosbury and Ledbury, Herefordshire, England, 1903.

This is a small example of the impulse turbine known as the Pelton wheel. It is supplied with pressure water from the domestic mains or hydraulic supply, and it is enclosed in a watertight casing to render it suitable for driving small machinery within a building.
