Table engine model, scale approx. 1:2, patented by Henry Maudslay, England, 1807 and made by Maudslay and Company, Lambeth, Surrey, England, 1815

The original form of this engine was patented by London engineer Henry Maudslay in 1807. Many engines of this compact design were made; until Maudslay's Lambeth Works were closed in 1900, two of them were regularly engaged there in driving some of the machinery.
