Direct acting vertical feed pump by Mumford, Colchester, with sliding crank pin and flywheel. 2 x 12" x 1.9" stroke

AG Mumford were based at the Culver Street Ironworks in Colchester, and built machinhery for waterworks, and small marine engines, often built for the Royal Navy. This is a direct-acting suction and force pump for feeding water into boilers to raise steam.

Single cylinder slide valve, horizontal steam engine with trunk guides. Single eccentric, 16inch flywheel, 3 inch bore by 6 inch stroke, with flickering govenor. Made in 1956 for driving the economisers at Bridge Mills, Hadfield. Manufactured by E Green and Son Ltd, Wakefield/Manchester.
