"Microban" washing up liquid containing antibacterial agent. Produced for Sainsbury's supermarkets as part of a wide range of products.

Sainsbury’s introduced a range of household products containing Microban® in 1997. Microban, made by Microban International, is an antibacterial agent proven to kill 99.9 per cent of household bacteria, including the bacteria that cause food-poisoning. The products were introduced at a time of growing public concern over food hygiene. The antibacterial agent has also been used in shampoos and medical equipment.
