Inlaid silver scale from 0° to 720° every 20'. Silver vernier on the index arm to 20", zero at the left. A polished brass scale on the inside of the limb to 180° every 5° on either side of zero. Silver vernier to 20", zero at the centre. A detached U-shaped bracket holds a third handle. Three rigidly connected arms moving with the brass scale, and the second vernier. The separately moving index arm carries the index glass and on the back a tangent screw working against a spring-loaded stop, and a clamping screw. A second tangent screw working against a spring-loaded stop, and clamping screw is on the back of one of the other arms. Index-glass adjustment by screw; adjustment of the horizon glass by capstan screws. Three hinged index shades (three red, one orange); three horizon shades (red, green, and orange). Two magnifiers on 70 mm swivelling arms, frosted glass shades. Threaded telescope bracket with perpendicular adjustment by rising-piece and a milled knob. Telescope (91 mm) erect image; telescope (162 mm) inverted image, one cross-wire, other(s) gone; extra draw tube (49 mm), four cross-wires; extra draw tube (49 mm), four cross-wires (damaged).
