Aluminium mokume bowl, red. Named the "Dislocation Bowl". Made in 1999 by Ian Ferguson. Mokume Gane was developed 300 years ago and the term comes from the traditional sword-making techniques and refers to the patterns forged into the sword blades. Its use has remained relatively rare, and something of a curiosity as the technique is difficult and laborious. This is a unique example of the technique using modern fusion welding techniques.
