
Artificial mercury horizon with mercury storage container and fitted wooden case, made by George Lee and Son, Portsea, Hampshire, England,1855-1865. Consists of a rectangular metal trough and loose fitting roof-shaped brass cover with side glazed panels. The mercury bottle a circular steel jar with a threaded stop (missing). Instrument case is marked with brass plate on lid for Robert D.G. Noel.
