Model of pointer to the North Pole (Druv Nal), scale 1: 24, in the Jaipur Observatory
This is a masonry pier having its upper surface inclined to the horizontal at an angle of 26 degrees 56', which is the latitude of Jaipur.
There are sights at the two ends of this surface, which give a line parallel to the earth's axis, and consequently point to the celestial pole.
