Gunter quadrant, maker unknown, made in England, 1650-1725.
Gunter quadrants are mathematical instruments that were used for basic astronomical calculation and time-telling. This quadrant has a scale for measuring altitude in degrees, Gunter’s trignonometric scale for making calculations and a shadow square.
