Altitude quadrant, maker unknown, made in Europe, 1552.

Altitude quadrants are mathematical instruments that were used for simple surveying tasks. This quadrant has equal and unequal hour scales on the front. On the reverse there is a scale for measuring altitude in degrees and a shadow square.
