German Ell Rod in marquetry work. 18th century, tapered rod in walnut and sycamore with inlays of ebony, mahogany, mother of pearl, silver and brass, with ivory stop and ferrule to define the Ell measure. Showing long German Ell (for cloth) of 26.3" and the short German Ell of 22.72". Each divided by inlays to show 1/4" and 1/16 ell. Overall length ( with handle) 30 1/2"
