Original Bolt, Link and Coupling for Menai Suspension Bridge

Original bolt, original link, original coupling plate, used in construction of Thomas Telford's (1757-1834) Menai suspension bridge, 1826. Road bridge linking Anglesey with North Wales opened in 1826. First bridge over the Menai Straits; widened in 1960s. Span of 579 feet (176.5 metres). See also 1975-68
