Painting. Sir Richard Arkwright (1732-1792), by Joseph Wright of Derby, 1790. Oil on canvas; 76.5x64.2cm in gilt frame 80.5x93.5x6.5cm. After the full length oil commissioned by the sitter, 1789-90. Commissioned from Wright by Jedediah Strutt, friend and patron of sitter; by family descent, the 'Belper' Arkwright; in contemporary Belper family frame. Portrait: HL looking to L, in red coat with striped yellow-green waistcoat.
