Watercolour, Camden Town station. Signed 'W.H. Prior, 1848 (?)' on a sleeper at bottom left. Depicts a Bury-type 2-2-0 locomotive in green livery in the foreground, with a man standing alongside conversing with the driver and fireman on the footplate. Nearby three workmen are maintaining another track, digging under the supervision of a man in a tall hat. Across the tracks in the background are the station buildings, with people standing on the platform, the ticket office, Pickford's warehouse and a goods yard with laden wagons. To the right of the station is the factory of the piano manufacturers, Collard & Collard. The sail of a barge on the canal is just visible at left. The painting is backed, suffers from loss at the right edge, with a small area of loss on the bottom left side. 16.8504 x 25.5118 in.
