Painting. Coiling and setting springs, Grimesthorpe Steel and Ordnance Works / EF Skinner, 1918. Oil on board; 31 x 47 cm in frame 44x60x3.5cm. Signed brc. Original for postcard no. 19, passed by censor May 10, 1918. A spring is being coiled on a machine; to left, another spring is set and adjusted while hot, near a hearth; to right, an immersion tank is ready for hardening and tempering.
