Palmer operating table and accessories, as used by Geoffrey Wingfield Harris, F.R.S., a professor of anatomy. Accessories include lamp, stand base, and packet of stand attachments. The metal plate on the surface may have been heated to stop the animal's body temperature from dropping during operations. United Kingdom, 1950-1970.

The Palmer operating table and accessories were used for anatomical research involving animals by Geoffrey Wingfield Harris. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and a lecturer at the University of London and Cambridge. He later became professor of anatomy at Oxford in 1962. He is best known for his research on the function of the pituitary gland.

The table is movable and fitted with accessories. These include a lamp, stand base, and packet of stand attachments. On the surface is a metal plate, which may have been heated. The table has slots cut through the surface to attach the accessories. They also enable items such as the lamp to move position.
