Piece of ship's timber with concretion, from Islay shipwreck.

Piece of ship's timber from the wreck of the barque Thomas, which was lost on submerged rocks off the island of Islay on 14 August 1857. The Thomas, which was sailing from Greenock to Nova Scotia, was carrying two locomotives built by Neilson & Co in Glasgow.
