Bronze (gold plated?); diameter 51mm in red box 9x9x1.5cm. stamped bronze on rim. reverse: border inscription Societe d'encouragement pour l'industrie nationale, (in exergue) A MM Cross Bevan et Beadle / viscose / 1900. obverse: relief figure of Scientia, chemical apparatus and instruments at her feet, handing out wreaths, dated below MDCCC1 [1801]
