Engraving of John Blenkinsop's Patent Steam Carriage at Middleton Colliery, near Leeds, impression from the original plate, 1887. The engine, which was made by Blenkinsop and Matthew Murray, is shown hauling three wagons. The engraving is also marked "Capable of moving One Hundred Tons 3 1/2 Miles an Hour on a Level Rail Road."
