This racing eight boat was used by the Cambridge University team in the 1934 Boat Race between Oxford and Cambridge. Cambridge won that race by 4.5 boat lengths in a record breaking time of 18 minutes and 3 seconds, a record which stood until 1948. This race was a record 11th consecutive win for Cambridge and they would go on to have two more consecutive wins before Oxford broke the streak. The crew of the boat were A. D. Kingsford; C. K. Buckle; W. G. R. M. Laurie; K. M. Payne (P); D. J. Wilson; W. A. T. Sambell; J. H. T. Wilson; N. J. Bradley; and J. N. Duckworth.
