Beard 'Eclipse' lantern slide carrier (3 1/4 x 4 1/4-inch slides)

Beard 'Eclipse' lantern slide carrier (3 1/4 x 4 1/4-inch slides), one of two, by R.R.Beard

Robert Royou Beard was a British inventor and manufacturer of magic lantern accessories. He developed a regulator which held the gas pressure in dissolving lanterns at the correct levels as well as the Eclipse self-centring slide carrier, which allowed slides to be changed without the operator having to lean over the lantern and also ensured that the screen was never blank.
