Gyroscope platform with two gyroscopes, for V2 rocket.
This pair of gyroscopes was part of the stability and guidance unit of the German V2 rocket, the world's first long-range missile. During 1944 and 1945 these weapons, each carrying 1 tonne of high explosive, fell on London, southern England, and cities on mainland Europe.
