Pathe 9.5mm Baby cine camera with motor, no. 055040. Cine camera for 9.5mm cine film in 30 foot chargers. H Roussell Paris, Kynor lens f/3.5-14 Serial No 56901. Originally hand-cranked, now fitted with single speed clockwork motor attachment, Camo, Swiss movement. Folding optical frame finder with metre counter. British Patent 208105.

The Pathe Baby 9.5mm cine camera was announced on 4 November 1923 and was on sale in December of the same year. The film was loaded into a metal charger containing about 30 feet (9 metres) of film. To load the camera, the charger was simply dropped in and a loop of film drawn from it was slotted into the gate - the simplest loading system so far. The camera was hand turned, each revolution exposing seven frames and it was very small and compact. A bolt-on clockwork motor drive was available from 1926.
