Newman and Sinclair Ltd 35mm film perforator. Reciprocating perforator, punching two films at once; single pair of punches and of register pins; claw transport. Hand operated.
Perforator made by Newman and Sinclair Limited in London, early twentieth century.
In the early days of cinematography, film was often supplied unperforated, and so needed to be perforated before use. The film enters the perforator by on rollers and is fed under the dies of the punch.
