Rouch pedestal stereoscope
Box body stereoscope; fixed back; hinged lid with flat mirror; ground glass missing; c. 1880. Lenses on rack and pinion focused rectangular tube; hinged front. Eye shields. Double brass telescopic stand, with pivot for tilting; turned wooden base. Overall (approx): 420 mm x 210 mm x 210 mm x 210 mm (dia. base).

A box body stereoscope on a double brass telescopic stand, with pivot for tilting and a turned wooden base. Stereoscopes used two slightly different two-dimensional photographs of the same view, to create a three dimensional view.
