Album containing photographic prints showing scenes of colonial life in Kenya c.1896-1901 and especially the construction of the metre gauge Uganda Railway (aka "The Lunatic Express") from Mombasa on the coast to Port Florence (later remaned Kisumu) on Lake Victoria. Photographer William D Young of Mombasa. 48 silver gelatin prints including two panoramas, captioned in ink on mounts, half morocco gilt binding, oblong octavo.
