Album containing 94 portrait photographs by Julia Margaret Cameron, dedicated to Sir John Herschel. Bound with wooden covers, front cover with carved bas-relief. Some prints were added at a later date. The Herschel Album consists of 94 albumen photographs, with a full contents list of titles. Most prints have a title and date handwritten by Cameron. She produced approximately a dozen bound albums which she presented as gifts to her friends and sisters.

Front cover is ornamented with large figure of an eagle in mother of pearl, on branch made of none with mother of pearl flowers and two mother of pearl small beads. All pages and cover interiors are covered with hand painted silk showing Japanese scenery and flowers.

Photograph album containing 34 photographs and 4 diagrams of gas turbine locomotive no. 18000. The locomotive was made by Brown Boveri of Baden, Switzerland, and tested by British Brown Boveri and British Railways (Western Region) as part of BR's exploration of gas turbine locomotives. The bogies and frame were made by the Swiss Locomotive Works (SLM) of Winterthur. The photographs were all take in Switzerland and show the locomotive at Basle station and at Brown Boveri's works at Baden. There are photographs of the internal machinery, bogies, frames, controls etc. The first photograph shows the locomotive at Basle with Brown Boveri's smaller gas turbine prototype locomotive no. 1101, which remained in Switzerland. The album was assembled as a presentation album to accompany the handover of the locomotive, and according to the donor only two albums were made. The album is accompanied by negatives of four of the pictures, and a print of a painting of the locomotive that was presented at the hand-over.

One of seven albums of photographs assembled by John Downes Rochfort chronicling his travels in North America, Europe and Africa between 1867 and 1883. This album is entitled 'Algiers Egypt &c 1882-3' and is a curious mixture of photographs of North African tourist subjects and views of Egyptian battlefields.

Bound volume entitled 'Calotype Portraits', bound in maroon leather with decorative gilt embossing on cover. Pages gilt edged. Contains thirteen calotype portraits by Henry Collen, 1841 to 1844. Collen was the first person to license the Calotype process from William Henry Fox Talbot in 1842.

The photographs show shops, kiosks, newsstands, bus stops, display cases, taxi ranks, advertisments etc. within and adjoining Victoria Station.
