Beard's oxygen regulator mechanism which consists of a spring, leather bellows and lazy tong mechanism for low pressure regulation. Taken from regulator 1990-5036/228/2
Robert Royou Beard was a British inventor and manufacturer of magic lantern accessories. He developed a regulator which held the gas pressure in dissolving lanterns at the correct levels as well as the Eclipse self-centring slide carrier, which allowed slides to be changed without the operator having to lean over the lantern and also ensured that the screen was never blank.
