Magic lantern chromatrope slide
Magic lantern Chromatrope slide with three circle pattern, 1870.
The handle on the side of the chromatrope is linked to internal gears, when it is turned the chromatrope creates a similar pattern to a kaleidoscope. When lit from behind the pattern can be projected onto a wall.
