Lantern slide with mica disc printed with 19 phases of running man and single slot shutter disc, both rotated by spring belt and pulley drives from single handle.
'Wheel of Life' magic lantern slide of a running man, made by Thomas Ross in England in the 1870s.
A handle turned both a transparent 13-picture disc and a counter-rotating shutter disc with 13 slots to give an illusion of movement on a screen, when projected by a magic lantern.
