A photograph of the Clarion Youth Hostel van in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, taken in July 1934 by George Woodbine for the Daily Herald. The Clarion Socialist Youth Hostel was established in 1933 by the London Labour League of Youth. In 1934 over 13,000 members camped in the hostel’s grounds. Herbert Morrison (1888-1965) stands on the right. Morrison was a British Labour Party politician and cabinet minister.
