The photograph shows a group of mods near the seafront at Clacton-on Sea, Essex. 100 arrests were made over the Easter weekend of 27-30 March 1964 in Clacton, following clashes between groups of mods and rockers. Mods and rockers were youth subculture groups in the 1960s, members of the two groups regularly came together at seaside towns, often resulting in fighting and riots.
