A photograph of a Bugatti racing car being fuelled, taken in September 1932 by Harold Tomlin for the Daily Herald.

The Bugatti eight cylinder car was about to take part in a 500 mile race at Brooklands, Surrey. It was to be driven by Count Stanislas Czaykowski, the only foreign competitor. Czaykowski was a wealthy, Paris-based Polish aristocrat. He was killed the following year when his Bugatti crashed during a race at Monza, near Milan, Italy.
