A photograph of a pedal car race, taken by Edward G Malindine for the Daily Herald newspaper on 21 June, 1933. Smartly-dressed and at the wheel of three equally smart pedal cars, these children get ready to race at the Duke of York's Garden Party. The race was started by Sir Noel Curtis-Bennett (1882-1950), author and member of the International Olympic Committee, who is standing on the right.
