A photograph of two women walking through the crowds on the second day of Royal Ascot for the Royal Hunt Cup, taken in June 1935 by Edward G Malindine for the Daily Herald. The racecourse at Royal Ascot was founded by Queen Anne in 1711. As a racecourse favoured by British Royalty, Ascot became a highlight of the social season, famous for its fashions, especially hats.
