The couple are rehearsing for the Royal Variety Performance show. An actress, singer and dancer, Jessie Matthews was a stage and screen star in the 1920s and 1930s. In the 1960s, her career revived when she became Britain's most popular radio star - as Mrs Dale in 'Mrs Dale's Diary'. Anton Dolin was a distinguished English ballet dancer and choreographer. In 1981, he was knighted for his services to dance.
