A photograph of John Lewis (1914-1974) being presented with the winner's trophy for the world light heavyweight boxing championship, Wembley Stadium, taken in November 1936 by Edward G Malindine for the Daily Herald.

Lewis was the first black American boxer to win the light heavyweight championship. He defeated Len Harvey (1907-1976), widely regarded as one of the finest British boxers of all time.
