The men are pictured at the weigh-in before their flyweight world championship fight at Wembley Stadium. Lynch, left, won the fight on points after 15 rounds. Lynch is widely regarded as one of Britain's finest boxers. Born in Glasgow, he was Scotland's first ever world boxing champion. Small Montana, real name Benjamin Gan, came from the Philippines.
Two Saidman brothers, Reuben and Barnet, worked as staff photographers for the Daily Herald. Their photographs are simply stamped 'Saidman' on the reverse, making it difficult to tell which of the brothers took the photograph.
