A photograph of a group of rugby supporters, taken in March 1937 by Saidman for the Daily Herald.

The photograph was taken at a match between St Mary's Hospital and St Bart's Hospital, London, played in Richmond, Surrey. The London teaching hospitals have a long rugby-playing tradition. Guy's Hospital Rugby Club, founded in 1843, is recognised as the oldest rugby union club in the world.

Two Saidman brothers, Reuben and Barnet, worked as staff photographers for the Daily Herald. Their photographs are simply stamped 'Saidman' on the reverse, making it difficult to tell which of the brothers took the photograph.
