A photograph of a woman demonstrating portable apparatus for pain relief, taken in October 1937 by Saidman for the Daily Herald.

The photograph shows the woman using 'Queen Charlotte's Gas Air Analgesia Apparatus', designed for use in industrial accidents and home childbirth. It was displayed at a medical exhibition held at the Horticultural Hall, London.

Two Saidman brothers, Reuben and Barnet, worked as staff photographers for the Daily Herald. Their photographs are simply stamped 'Saidman' on the reverse, making it difficult to tell which of the brothers took the photograph.
