The photograph shows Boo-Boo, a chimpanzee at London Zoo, Regent's Park on the occasion of the opening of the Children's Zoo by the popular comedians Elsie and Doris Walters. British Movietone News provided newsreels for British cinemas between 1929 and 1979. London Zoo was founded for the scientific study of animals in 1829, opening to the public in 1847.
