The drawing is one of over fifty pencil and charcoal drawings planning the appearance of 'The Creature' for the film 'The Evil of Frankenstein' (1964) made by the Hammer Studio and directed by Freddie Francis. The film was one of a series of 'Frankenstein' films made by the Hammer studio, with 'The Creature' being played by Ernie 'Kiwi' Kingston, a relatively unknown wrestler from New Zealand.
Roy Ashton was a make-up artist who created many of Hammer's most memorable monsters.
