Plinth, marble, for Henry Booth bust, engraved ‘Henry Booth, Foremost among the founders of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, he shared with Stephenson the prize for inventing the improved ‘Rocket’. The originator of uniformity of time and other improvements in railway working. A clear and forcible writer and one of the first Secretaries of the London & North Western Railway. B.B. 28.3.1869’.
